Agriculture is the number one industry in eastern Montana where Miles City is centrally located. A majority of the population in this region conducts their everyday business in Miles City. Custer County ranks third in the state for value of sales of cattle and fourth in the state for the number of cattle raised.
These statistics demonstrate the importance of agriculture to this community and region. Miles Community College’s mission is to promote student success and lifelong learning through accessible, quality programs and community partnerships. To fulfill this mission, MCC shoulders a responsibility to provide access for students and the community to a strong agriculture curriculum as well as a state-of-the-art learning facility.

They offer full transferability of credits to 4-year programs, exceptional financial aid options, as well as evening, distance, and online classes. They also provide continuing education, workforce training, and personal enrichment classes.
Miles Community College was founded in 1939 and was the first community college in the state of Montana. Over the many years, there has been a large and diverse group of successful alumni who, after starting at Miles Community College, have gone on to excel in many different areas.
